Dr. David H. Hughes has been appointed as the new LMT Director,
succeeding Dr. Alfonso Serrano Perez-Grovas, who passed away on July
12, 2011, after a brief illness. Dr. Hughes has played a leading role
in the project as the Mexican Project Scientist and a leader of the
First Light Science team. He is well positioned to lead the LMT/GTM
Project through the full science operation.
