Inner Three Rings of Panels Re-installed (May 15, 2008)
The re-installation of the surface panels for the inner three rings has
been completed, and they are ready for the next phase of adjustments
using radio frequency holography. These panels were removed earlier and
were transported back to INAOE in order to be adjusted at the panel
laboratory.
The installation of the holography system is planned for mid-June. The
holography system has been designed and built by the instrument group at
UMass, and it is being prepared for shipping from Amherst to the LMT
site now. The first round of radio holography measurements and intial
tests on panel adjustments are schedule for early July.
